Previous Screenings

Think people with disabilities are heroic?  Normally, we'd argue against the stereotype, but when a wheelchair user packs a piece and blows up semi-trucks even we concede...

In August, disTHIS! continues our genre-busting ways and puts a disability spin on the traditional Summer action flick by showcasing READY, WILLING AND ABLE -- a non-stop thrill ride featuring exciting, never-before-seen wheelchair stunts and a heroic crip who, for once, actually earns the label.

Christopher Templeton (Young and the Restless, Hill Street Blues, Fraiser), herself a polio survivor, stars as Samantha "Sam" Martin, a CIA special agent determined to continue her career after she is injured in the line of duty. When Sam discovers a deadly chemical weapons conspiracy she does what agents to best --  assembles a ragtag team of specialists and embark on a seemingly impossible and deadly mission.  Did we mention that Sam, uses a wheelchair?

This fast-paced independently produced thriller, by award-winning director Jenni Gold, has enjoyed sold-out screenings and has been honored at film festivals across the United States and Europe.
